When you approve the final design, we will submit the necessary permits for approval to your local building department or AHJ(Authority Having Jurisdiction). Northern Nevada has multiple AHJ’s and most of them take between 1-4 weeks to review and issue a permit. A few can take a bit longer than that, especially during busy periods.
If your permit is sent back for revision, it can extend your timeline even further. This is one stage where the installer’s experience can be a big asset. We have strong relationships with the plans review teams in all of our local AHJ offices. We know what they are looking for, and they are familiar and confident with our products and past installations.
Don’t forget to let us know if you have an HOA. They typically will want to review and approve the design as well.Often they are the slowest group in the process, so getting them in the process up front allows us to handle this step at the same time we work with the AHJ.
